Here is another look at the 2008 p+p data.

This plot above shows what I believe is an electronics problem - "8x" pattern in the tower ADCs. I have observed the same pattern in the 2005 data, but not in the 2003 data. If this is a hardware problem (like stuck bits), it must have developed after 2003.
