BSMD and BPRS timing runs 10060041-54

Introduction

Timing data were taken for the barrel preshower and shower max early Sunday morning.  From the elog:

Run GD BT SMD SMD4
10060041 20 12 70 97
42 20 17 70 98
43 20 22 70 99
44 20 27 35 100
45 20 32 70 100
46 20 37 35 101
47 20 42 70 101
48 20 47 35 102
49 20 52 70 102
50 20 57 35 103
51 20 62 70 103
52 20 67 70 104
53 20 72 70 105
54 20 77 70 106

Note: there was a problem with the production of run 43.   Run 51 has very low statistics so I exclude it from the timing curves. The delay for the preshower and shower max is given by SMD+106.6*SMD4.

Updates 11 March 2009

Fixed the clock period and somewhat improved the fits.  Using all counts above 200, results posted as v4.  Also updated bprs plots the same way with improved fit and fixed clock period, posted as v4.

Updates 06 March 2009

In order to try to improve the dependence of the smd crates on timing, I tried some different ranges for the sums.  The plots in *_sum_v2 sum from ADC-ped=200 to ADC-ped=350.  The plots in *_sum_v3 sum everything above ADC-ped=200 .  From the *_fit plots it looks like there is no reason to cut off the sum.  (I also updated these plots with an extended x-axis range.)

Updates 04 March 2009

Most recent plots now exclude the low statistics run 51.  I am also posting the 1/slope timing curves for the smd.  Generally the sum curves show much better dependence.  For the slope fitting, I fit in the range ped+50 to ped+150.  I sum from ADC-ped=50 to ADC-ped=150 (approximately the same range since most peds are at zero).

Also I have re-numbered the crates starting at 1 this time and changed the x axis on the plots to time delay/10000 to make it easier to read.

Results

I fit and do pedestal subtraction by hand for all strips, making an ADC-ped spectra for each crate.  I then attempt to fit a slope above the pedestal.  The results of these fits are given in the <sub_system>_fits attachments below.  The results for 1/slope dependence on timing are given in <sub_system>_slope and the results for sum dependence on timing are given in <sub_system>_sum.
