BEMC/EEMC trig ratio problem

Over the last couple nights, Carl has observed a deficit in the number of EEMC triggered events vs. the number of BEMC triggered events in both JP and HT. The ratio of EEMC/BEMC in both types of triggers is ~11%. One proposed cause is the raise in BTOW HV.

In March, Jan noted a change the rate of events in the ESMD above a certain threshold: http://www.star.bnl.gov/HyperNews-star/get/emc2/3092.html.

I looked at the same runs for 2006 and 2008, but a slightly longer run in 2009 at the ETOW. The most meaningful plot from this PPlots is show below for each of the three runs. All three runs were primarily FPD/FMS events. The plots below show the number events in each run with the number of towers above a certain threshold (40 ADCs above pedestal). Let me summarize:

Year Run Length(min) Events Rate(events/min)
2006 7142017 37 3128 84
2008 9061023 27 1186 44
2009 10103028 16 366 23

It has also been suggested that we turned the high voltage the wrong way. The goal was to get the full scale voltage for the barrel to ~60 GeV. The previous full scale was at about 63 GeV, so we needed to turn the high voltage up to move the full scale down. The plot below shows the full scale voltage for east and west from 2006.
