Gamma Jet Asymmetry Projections

This analysis uses the prompt-photon PYTHIA+ GEANT simulations to determine the errors on gamma-jet asymmetries and  DeltaG for an input of 50 pb-1 and polarization = 60%.  This procedure does not include effects from an experimental purity < 100%.  This number would have to be incorporated from current studies on real data samples.

 The procedure is as follows:

  1. Apply jetfinding algorithm to the prompt photon simulation sample (R=0.7)
  2. Find all dijet events and require dPhi = 180 +/- 60 degrees

     3. Tag the jet with the highest neutral energy fraction in the dijet event as the "gamma jet"

     4. Require gamma jet have neutral energy fraction > 0.9

     5. Using this sample calculate asymmetries and errors based on several GRSV scenarios and plot as a function of gamma jet pT

     6. Scale error bars to reflect 50 pb-1 and 60% polarization.  Lines are NLO predictions from Werner. Top row is for all prompt photon processes.  Points are offset in pT to illustrate error bars.  Bottom row is only qg events.  Only error bars for the g0 scenario are plotted in bottom row.

     7. Calculate <xmin> and <xmax> from the gamma and away side jet pseudorapidity and pT for each asymmetry bin

     8.  Calculate <dQ/Q> and partonic aLL for each asymmetry bin

     9.  Extract <dG/G> for each asymmetry bin.
