BTOW/BSMD Geometry Changes
Jan Balewski noticed many problems with the GSTAR implementation of BTOW/BSMDBPRS
geometry
drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/2008/25
Here is a summary of the changes I made (~trent/3new_geometry/calbgeo3.g)
1) Changed maximum extent of barrel from ETA=1.0 to ETA=0.9835
2) Inserted Stainless Steel Plate (0.477 cm), Air Gap (0.215 cm) at ETA=0
3) Inserted Stainless Steel Plate (0.79375 cm) at ETA=0.9840
4) 15 Stainless Steel Straps/Anchors on faceplate/phi gaps between modules
5) Aluminum covers (0.040 cm) between modules
Note: The block of aluminum at ETA~1 for the BSMD has not been modeled correctly
because this now interferes with the Stainless Steel endplate. This effects of this
plate will dominate over the small amount of missing aluminum.
Jan Balewski has kindly made a number of plots which show these changes.
