BSMD Performance Table

For plots, see here.

If a fill does not appear in this table, that means that it was either less than 4 hours, contained no runs with non-zero-suppressed BSMD data, or (for some fills on March 28 and April 3) the monitoring code was down during the fill.

Note that no BSMD channels are masked out yet.

Eta RDO 1 softId 2200-2250 are especially bad.

Not much pedestal drift (MPVs are <0 more often than >0 though).

Bug in calculating RMS for BSMD channels: now fixed.

Bug caused BSMDP MPVs to be set equal to BSMDE MPVs, so the nBadCr numbers for this fill are not accurate: now fixed.

Some channels have very high RMS, >10 and up to 20 or more in some cases (most have RMS~2).

Crate 20E has some structure in the 2D ADC plots.

Eta softId 2200-2250 are definitely bad.

Eta softId 2150-2250 look even worse.

Either bad pedestals or significant drift for Eta softId 12750-12900, 13301-13351, Phi softId 300-450.

Between the first and last long run, Eta and Phi softId 16651-16800 died.  Most likely this means a dead module.  This explains the significant increase in dead channels over the course of the fill.

Oscillatory behavior now visible in parts of Phi RDO 0 (p. 44), 2 (p. 50), 3 (p. 53), 4 (p. 56), 5 (p. 59), 6 (p. 62), 7 (p.65).

Some pronounced sawtooth oscillations in RMS in Phi RDO 0, 1, 2, 4.

 Some channels now masked.

There appears to be a line in the ADC vs. cap plot for crate 20E at ADC~185.

Some channels in softId 3940-3980 seem to have displaced pedestals.

Ped drift/bad ped/bad channel for Eta softId 300-400, 4200-4350, 13200-13350, 16050-16200, Phi softId 300-450, 13200-13350, 14100-14700, 15600-16050.

Eta softId 2150-2250 still pretty bad.

Oscillatory behavior in raw distributions and RMS persists (see above).

Band in ADC vs. cap plot persists (see above).

Potential bad channels in softId range 2650-2700.

Displaced pedestals in PSD 20E persist (see above).

Eta softId 8101-8150, 1801-1950, 12751-12900,  has badly displaced pedestals.

Oscillatory behavior in Phi crates persists and is even more pervasive (see above).

Band in ADC vs. cap for PSD-1E at ADC~180: could be associated with bad ped at 2660-2700.

PSD-20E pedestals look fine but there is still something strange: strong sawtooth pattern in RMS.

78-79 6 PM 10398 10078067 10078092,133 10079017,97 190,192 167,185 130,181 59,74 28,98 44,51 23,14 67,102 0,0 0,0 0,0 1,1

Significant Ped drift in Eta and Phi SoftId 13201-13350.

Oscillatory behavior in Phi Crate ADCs is gone (or at least less visible), but it persists in the RMS.

PSD-20E still looks funny though sawtooth pattern less visible (possibly drowned out by a few large-RMS channels).

Eta softId 2150-2250 still looks horrible.

ADC oscillations in Phi RDOs are back in softId 4951-5100, 12151-12300.  Sawtooth oscillations in the RMS are also visible.

see previous fill: also, bad peds for softId 3540-3620.

Very bad peds for Eta softId 8160-8190.

Eta softId 1950-2250 was very bad for early runs (thus the large number of bad channels): the problem seems to have been corrected by the end of the fill, though 2150-2250 look bad as always.

Usual problems with 12750-12900, 13200-13350.

See remarks on Phi RDOs from previous fills.

Line in ADC vs. cap at ADC~190 has for PSD 20E has (maybe) reappeared.

Ped-subtracted ADC vs. cap for RDO 4 has a surprising amount of counts for ADC <0.

Eta softId 8160-8190 still bad, 2150-2250 remains bad, 12750-12900 and 13200-13350 and Phi softId 13301-13350 still have problems, though not as serious.

New problems: Eta softId 13951-14050, 17350-17400, phi SoftId 10350-10450 has split peds.

Modules containing softId 5401-5550, and 16651-16800, died during the run. This explains the large increase in the number of dead channels.

Oscillations in Phi RDO ADC no longer visible but sawtooth oscillations in RMS remain.

Line in ADC vs. cap not seen: otherwise, see previous comments about PSD 20E.

New problems: eta+phi softId 5401-5550 has all values 0 (note that this means that this problem does not show up in the bad channel counts), a couple of bad channels in eta 14520-14525.

Phi ADC oscillations still not visible but RMS oscillations remain and the spikiness of the ADC distributions that I assume they are associated with is even more pronounced.
