pp500 W M-C request w/o embedding

 Summary of W M-C request for APS 

(updated Jan 8, 2010)

Requirements:

  • library SL09g, no filtering
  • Pythia 6.4.22,  p+p 500 GeV
    • Tune 320: “Perugia 0” , http://home.fnal.gov/~skands/slides/pythia-atlas-mar09.pdf
    • no phase space restriction (interaction w/ the beam pipe will cause more secondaries) 
    • eta, phi ranges - do not constrain. For Z,W production the x-section dies out quickly w/ eta, minimal CPU benefit 
  • STAR geometry y2009a, low_sim option for both EMCs, reverse full field
  • TPC gains as for 'low HV' working point during pp500 run
  • TPC status tables: actual dead padrow map for selected time stamp(s)  (TBD 10 time stamp values)
  • TPC dEdX similar to real data calibration (low HV) with 10% accuracy
  • not possible: TPC points corrections compatible with :"Corr4,OSpaceZ2,OGridLeak3D"
  • Beam line offset in GSTAR & BFC : one , the same fixed value for all events x=y=0. 
  • Vertex distribution in GSTAR:
    • transverse : Normal(0 cm, 0.015cm) in X,Y
    • Z: Normal(x0=-2cm, sig=42cm) truncated at |Z|<120 cm
  • Vertex reco in BFC : use PPV w/ beam line constrain,  allow PPV to find all vertices in the M-C event
  • Pileup - do not simulate
  • Important detectors: TPX (TPC w/ TpcRS), BTOW, ETOW
    • other detectors  - does not matter
  • BTOW calibration set to 'sim' (ideal gains)
  • ETOW calibration set to  'missetTCD' - the offline gains for pp500 in run 9 
  • BTOW, ETOW pedestals - set to 0 - use 'sim' flavor
  • BTOW, ETOW status table -  real ( drop dead towers according to time stamp, similar to TPC dead padrows)
  • save : muDst , geant , log files, fzd, kumac
