material review : action items

  1.  Modify the code according Jason’s comments 
    1. Pixlgeo4.xml and Pxstgeo1.xml should be in the same directory
    2. Check the material with proper definition : make sure to pick the correct material, not AIR
    3. Many “blueprints” in the code  ---> better to use a <Struc… > block 
    4. There are many instances of a single material ,better to define a mixture
  2.  BFC chain : timing test on the reconstruction, not only the .fz generation : the current drupal blog is here 
  3. Implementation of additional material for the PST :
    1. shrouds,
    2. West End stabilizing bull horn (Plastic),
    3. trapezoid shape holding the rings
  4. BFC chain : there is an existing option for the pileup

Finish geometry
  • put appropriate mass in PST/PIT/rails etc
  • code sector holder, sector terminator, shrouds etc, things we know
  • Cu, low mass (transition signal cables)
  • Mass termination boards MTBs (z=~96cm)
  • Heavy signal cables (up/down only) after the MTBs
  • ??? (Other, TBD)
  • Beam pipe needs to be finalized. Have a draft drawing in hand.
  • HFT support cones are attached to TPC wheel (like SVT)?
  • - Impacts geometry/alignment work. Answer is ‘yes’
  • Use official pile-up mechanism, study UPC in detail (with Geant for spirals), ask PHENIX about background
  • Use VMC for (mis-) alignment MC studies?
  • Code needs to be segmented so that ladder/sector etc geometry corrections can be applied in GEANT too.
