J/psi in Au+Au and Cu+Cu at 200 GeV Paper Proposal

Title: J/psi production at low pT in Au+Au and Cu+Cu collisions at sqrt(s_NN) = 200 GeV at the STAR detector

Abstract:

 

The J/psi pt spectrum and nuclear modification factor are reported for pt < 5 GeV/c and |y|<1
from 0-60% central Au+Au and Cu+Cu collisions at sqrt(sNN) = 200 GeV at STAR. A significant
suppression of J/psi production is observed in central Au+Au collisions, with less suppression
observed in Cu+Cu. The pt-dependence of the nuclear modification factor is also reported, and
an increase of R_AA towards high-pt is observed. The data are compared to high-pt STAR results
and previously published data at mid-rapidity, and are also compared to theoretical calculations 
including color screening and regeneration
