Reconstruction of Neutral-Triggered Recoil Jets in 200 GeV pp-Collisions (2021)

The analysis note for the Neutral-Triggered Recoil Jets in pp analysis can be found here.  This post will be updated with more current drafts as the note is compiled.

Most recent update: May 14th, 2023

Description of changes in each update:

  • [09.14.2021] initial upload (very rough state, there is a lot missing currently).
  • [01.12.2022] in lieu of a dedicated Analysis Note we have opted instead to use my PhD Thesis, which covers all of the material that would go into the Analysis Note. The thesis may be found in this post.
  • [02.16.2022] following suggestions from the PWG, the Analysis Note will consist of the relevant sections of my PhD thesis. This version of the document can be found attached, and is labeled '*16Feb2022.pdf'. There is some placeholder text which will be updated soon, and references to sections not included will be removed soon. Furthermore, any relevant changes made to the thesis will also be implemented in this document as well.
  • [11.29.2022] added fake jet and fragmentation systematic sections/discussion/plots, started code appendix, removed references to "this thesis", and added in comments for the GPC.
  • [05.14.2023] added e/p distributions to simulation chapter, filled in fragmentation systematic numbers in systematic uncertainty summaries, filled in code locations/descriptions, substantially reworked TES/R chapter to include discussion of how to obtain weights from the TES/R matrix, and completely reworked the final chapter to be about STAR-tuned Pythia-6 and include plots from the paper. These changes were carried out after the completion of the GPC process.
  • [09.17.2023] updated closure test section to include explanation of non-closure that we observed previously, added final closure test plots, and updated final corrected vs. STAR-tuned Pythia-6 plot to include all uncertainties. This note now reflects the state of the analysis when the manuscripts were submitted to arXiv.
