Update 11.02.2018 -- Run 9 pp: Quick Check on Eta Cut and Hot Tower List
Recently, I noticed that I was not applying a cut the trigger "cluster" (or "physics," if you please) eta in our data analysis. Rather I was only cutting on the trigger "detector" eta, the eta of the central tower of the trigger cluster. So the two plots below compare with and without this additional cut. I anticipated the difference to be small, and it is. And, as a point of order, this cut only applies the data (so not the embedding, Pythia, etc).
On top of that, I was curious what would happen if I used a small hot tower list when selecting the trigger. So the plots below also include what happens when I apply a cut on the trigger cluster eta and use a smaller hot tower list. The difference due to the hot tower list is a lot more pronounced, but still small.
