Update 11.28.2018 -- Run 9 pp: Pythia Vs. Embedding Comparison
We wanted to make sure that our parameterization of the Run 9 response reproduces the detector-level Run 9 dijet embedding, so below I compare our standalone Pythia 8 simulation (pi0-trigger) with the parameterized response applied to the detector-level embedding (charged hadron-trigger). Good agreement is observed for all bins of eTtrg and R. There are differences, but I would expect there to be at least some. The embedding was generated using Pythia 6 rather than Pythia 8. Not to mention, the embedding generator was tuned to match STAR data while out Pythia 8 simulation uses the out-of-the-box tuning (and pThatMin = 4 GeV/c).
