A Test: Run 12059009

Analysis of Run-6, 200 GeV, tranverse-spin jets has given hints of interesting effects to provide access to transversity at higher x. Data collected in Run-12 should provide better statistics and better control of systematics to illuminate spin effects. Until Run-12 data are produced it would also be interesting to examine transverse spin jets at 500 GeV. To date no Run-11 500 GeV transverse jets have been produced. As a test, I chose a run from the middle of the 500 GeV transverse running (February 28). Borrowing from code Kevin has assembled to look at longitudinal jets and referring to code Pibero has assembled for running the anti-kT algorithm, I have produced some simple QA histograms. As this is my first foray into jet physics, I need to get an idea of which cuts and triggers are appropriate as well as systematics to keep in mind.

The next step seems to be a larger sample for the purposes of estimating sensitivity. Should sufficient statistics avail themselves, it is possible analyses beyond Collins and Sivers may be warranted, e.g. ATT.
