Title: Hyperon Spin-Spin correlations in 200GeV AuAu collisions at STAR
Abstract: Two particle spin-spin correlations may offer a unique and detailed view of the spin structure of the QGP, which is typically averaged out in a global polarization measurement. In principal such correlations may be related to the quantum mechanical interference of femtometer-scale spin domains as well as spatial fluctuations of net vorticity.
The characteristic size of spin domains is of fundamental importance to understanding the spin structure of the QGP. The size and strength of position-space vorticity fluctuations in the fireball may be due, in part, to turbulent flow present in the medium. Furthermore two-particle correlation measures allow us to probe the sensitivity of the particle polarization on relative momentum, rapidity, and emission angle.
