Minutes for HF PWG meeting on 05/06/2014

A. Disk space requirements from Heavy Flaor data analysis

HF conveners would like to encourage colleagues to use unified picoDsts (to save disk space). Many people already uses Berkeley picoDst and this is our first choice for the default picoDst data format. Xin estimated, that for Au+Au 200 GeV run 14, we will need 30-40 TB for the min-bias data and then 10-15 TB for the Central and HF data. In addition, MTD group requested 25TB in total (15TB for picoDst and calibration, and 10TB for simulation.) We may also need some space for the HFT team (Yifei will follow this up with HFT crew). On top of that, we should have some space for users' analysis and 300 GB seems to be a reasonable choice. Assuming we will have ~20 active PAs, then we need ~6 TB extra disk space.

Total request is then ~85 TB.

B. Paper status and publication plan

1. NPE spectra in p+p (run 9 and run 12)- the analysis would fit nicely in the long NPE Au+Au 200 GeV spectra paper, if results finalized in timely matter. Daniel expects the NPE Au+Au 200 GeV paper to be ready for the HF PWG review in ~4 weeks. In the meantime Mustafa, Xiaozhi and Zhenyu will try to provide analysis notes by the end of July.
2. D0 in U+U and p+p - these results (plus updated R_AA for Au+Au with new baseline) should be published together. Hao, Mustafa and Zhenyu will try to provide analysis notes and paper proposal by the end of July.
3. NPE spectra in Au+Au 62.4 and 39 GeV - 62.4 GeV part is almost ready (Mustafa), 39 GeV data will be finished by Olga. Mustafa needs to prepare a plots physics message for that paper, but he still prefers to include these data in the long NPE Au+Au 200 GeV paper.
4. D0 and D* in p+p 500 GeV - David - min-bias part is ready (paper proposal in the PWG review). It would make sens to add HT results to the same paper to minimize the cost, although David mentioned that there are several things he would like to check/fix/improve for the HT data.
5. J/psi in BES (Wangmei) - we provided comments, waiting for Wangmei's updates
6. J/psi in U+U (Ota/Guannan) - this topic needs some work to get a R_AA as a function of centrality and R_AA(pT) for different centrality classes.
7. J/psi and psi(2s) spectra in 500 GeV (Qian) - results almost ready for the 8. Other analysis (Upsilon in U+U, NPE-hadron correlations, J/psi polarization in p+p 500 GeV) needs additional work.

C. 3He-Au 200 GeV run

We can expect 500 M events in total (min-bias and central triggers) or integrated luminosity of 2 pb-1.
