Minutes for HF PWG meeting on 2014/8/28

Leszek: Update on Upsilon production in p+p 500 GeV run 11 (http://www.star.bnl.gov/protected/heavy/lkosarz/Upsilon_HF_LK_2014_8_28.pdf)

Leszek presented embedding QA for BEMC-related distributions. Overall, energy distributions and E/p look reasonable, but there are some discrepancies, especially at low-pT. These differences give a pT dependent difference in the E/p efficiency, which needs to be included in the systematic uncertainty.  One possibility is to use a wider E/p cut (0.5 <E/p < 1.5), but we need to see what is a change in the statistical precision for the wider E/p cut (plots plus numbers). Also, a difference between efficiency from data and embedding should be taken as symmetric systematic error. One solution is to take an average from these two and treat difference as systematic uncertainty. (Now Leszek uses eff. from embedding).

Zhenyu: question regarding new embedding request for NPE spectra analysis in p+p 200 GeV run 12. The request looks good, no specific comments from PWG. Zhenyu will submit it to the embedding team.
