DIGMAPS testing with PID
1. Data used
Au+Au 200 GeV, 15166015. FileId 2000050, 5200 events
2. Software
SL15k, gcc482, StHftPool (Dmitri Smirnov): https://github.com/plexoos/star-soft and modified to PID (Kaons+Protons)
BFC options taken and modified from http://www.star.bnl.gov/devcgi/dbProdOptionRetrv.pl
BFC chain: "P2014a,btof,pxlHit,istHit,BEmcChkStat,QAalltrigs,CorrX,OSpaceZ2, OGridLeak3D,-hitfilt,HftMatTree,-evout"
used *.hftree.root only
3. Applied cuts
At least 1 cluster in IST 4x1 mm^2 track window
Exactly one cluster in inner PXL layer with 6x6 mum^2 track window (previosly: At least one cluster in 20x20 mum^2 track window)
Exactly one cluster in outer PXL layer with 8x8 mum^2 track window (previosly: At least one cluster in 20x20 mum^2 track window)
Used primary tracks only
PID for Protons (2 sigma in TPC), Kaon (2 sigma in TPC) and Pions (1 sigma in TPC)
>1GeV particles only (not good improvement on result)
4. Previous Plot
At least 1 cluster in IST 4x1 mm^2 track window
At least one cluster in 20x20 mum^2 track window
At least one cluster in 20x20 mum^2 track window
4.Gradual Plots
At least 1 cluster in IST 4x1 mm^2 track window
At least one cluster in inner PXL layer with 6x6 mum^2 track window (histogram right: Exactly one cluster...)
At least one cluster in outer PXL layer with 8x8 mum^2 track window (histogram right: Exactly one cluster...)
At least 1 cluster in IST 4x1 mm^2 track window
Exactly one cluster in inner PXL layer with 6x6 mum^2 track window
Exactly one cluster in outer PXL layer with 8x8 mum^2 track window
Used primary tracks only
histogram right: with cut >1GeV particles only
just for interest that secondary tracks fit not well
At least 1 cluster in IST 4x1 mm^2 track window
Exactly one cluster in inner PXL layer with 6x6 mum^2 track window
Exactly one cluster in outer PXL layer with 8x8 mum^2 track window
Used secondary tracks only
4. Result
left: old plot
right: new plot, new cuts (primary tracks without >1GeV cut)
Bigger suppression of 1 pixel big clusters (from 17% to ~13%)
Primary tracks fit really well for cluster size 4 and >=6
Cluster size 2 and 5 fits better for heavier particles (Protons)
Continuing drop in cluster size 3
