As far as I know, STAR has never been able to simulate the entire detector when it includes forward (eta>2) detectors like EPD or BBC.  (Is ETOF included?  FCAL?)

It seems to me that we never will.  Perhaps we need to poke ourselves with these handy devices, originally sold to dentists to help with root canal.  It might be less painful.
