TOF OPS: How to use the ArchiveViewer

This fires up the GUI that displays values from the SC archive. This interface is also useful if you cannot remember the PV name for a specific archived quantity.... 

1. ssh to sc.starp:    ssh -X -A sysuser@sc.starp.bnl.gov

2. open the archive viewer.  in the command line:    ArchiveViewer

3. On the viewer, go to File and click New Connection.  The connection should be there, but if it isn't input: "http://sc.starp.bnl.gov/archive/cgi/ArchiveDataServer.cgi"

4. On the pull down field below the top menu, select CURRENT_ARCHIVE

5. Click [search] to find the channels that you want to view

6. search for TOF* to bring up all the TOF values.  You can also search for the specific channel that you wish to view. e.g. "TOF:LV:THUB*".... then click [Go]. 

7. Double-click on those channels that you want to view, or click one once and click [Add]. You will now see it/them listed in the main window. the color of the variable name text there will be the color of the plotted line for this data. 

8. Click [OK] to close the search window, Or you can leave the search window open and just click back into the main window.

9. Go to the top right where it shows "start" and "end" and select the time period that you want to display the channels over. Do this by entering a date manually or clicking the "..." button and choosing the date. You can also enter relative dates, i.e. Start '-10d' and End 'now'.... The format for hour selections is "-10H" (i.e. capital "H")... To really fine-tune your selection click on the arrow to the right of the value to bring up a pop-up and use that to set specific values for the date, hour, etc.....

10. Click [Plot] and the values for the requested time period will appear.

11. In the main window, you can remove previous plotted variables by clicking on it once (to highlight) then click [Remove].
