HF-PWG minutes 2016/03/31
1) New production priorites were discussed. Zaochen from UIC and someone else appointed by Xin will look at high-tower trigger in st_physics, and Takahito from BNL will look at MTD trigger in st_mtd. Coordinate the efforts with other PWGs, especially spin group, to produce test samples.
2) Guanan prestented several checks that the HFT group has done to address the issue of low pT D0. However, none of the attempts seem to work. They will check if this issue is solved with the repdouction when a decoder bug is fixed. The Hijing simulation differs by ~40% from data in terms of HFT efficiency, which is identied to be because of the mismatching in HFT ratio and Dca distributions. The hope is that this mismatch will disappaer with the bug fixed. Also, Guanan showed that the bug fix improves the D0 efficiency by a factor of 4.5-5, which is larger than the expectation from the improvement of efficiency for single tracks. Mustafa offered a possible explanation that D0 tends to be proudced with jets which result in high local density in HFT, while the increase in efficiency with the bug fix depends on the local density.
3) Te-Chuan presented the Jpsi-h correlation study using Run13 pp 500 GeV data from dimuon channel. Detector effects, such as resolution and efficeincy, need to be parameterized from embedding and applied to Pythia templates. Especially, the Jpsi efficiency needs to be taken into account. Xin suggests to use either TOF or BEMC match for the associated hadrons to increase the statistics. Embedding requests on charged hadrons were made.
