HF-PWG minutes 2017/02/23
1) pA centrality study - Yanfang Liu
a. Add trigger ids and trigger names for minimum-bias and zero-bias triggers. Check if there are more zero-bias events
b. slide 5: check the vertex selection cuts, and add them onto the slides
c. slide 6: normalize all the distributions to 1 and make ratios to see if they are really consistent. Also need to check negative z, where the mean multiplicities seem lower compared to positive z as shown on slide 5. This could be due to the fact that there are more particles in Au-going direction compared to p-going direction.
d. slide 9: also need to correct for luminosity dependence
e. To check what casues the discrepancy between data and simulation in terms of BbcAdcSum distributions, suggest to count the # of MC particles in the Au-going and p-going directions to see how the relative abundance compares to the signal in BBC after detector simulation. In this way, one can check whether the discrepancy comes from physics simulation or detector simulation or a combination fo the two. Yanfang will check what Akio has already done, and forward it to HF list.
