MuDst / Trigger Data Block Comparison
Here I compare the ADC, TDC, and Time difference spectra for the BBC and VPD I obtain from the MuDst files and from the Trigger Data Block files.
The first set of figures show the ADC and TDC spectrum as well as the time difference as obtained from MuDsts from several 500GeV runs 10088010, 011, 013; 10090001, 004, 013; 10092004, 011, and 024. The data was collected using the methods from StBbcTriggerDetector and StVpdTriggerDetector: StBbcTriggerDetector::adcSumEast(), adcSumWest(), tdc(), onlineTimeDifference(); and StVpdTriggerDetector::ADC(), TDC(), and TimeDifference().

The next set of figures show the Adc and Tdc BBC spectra as well as the BBC and VPD time differences from my analysis of the trigger data block files. I do not have the Adc or Tdc spectra for the VPD because I did not save that information in the trees I created from the data blocks. The data analyzed comes from a set of 200GeV runs which are listed here. The data was accessed using methods from StTriggerData2009 found in $STAR/StRoot/StEvent/. The methods used were bbcTimeDifference(), vpdTimeDifference(), bbcADC(), and bbcTDC().

Fig 7: The VPD time difference spectrum for all events, regardless of trigger condition. Note the non-gaussian spike like the one seen in fig 4.
Fig 8: The VPD time difference for events which satisfied the L2 dijet trigger. Note that the spike disapears.
