Breakdown of numbers after different cuts

In my previous blog entry, I had listed the numbers just after fiducial cuts. I forgot to mention about photon isolation cuts. So, here is the detailed breakdown of these numbers after each cut to give you an estimate of the kind of statistics we have for pp2006, prompt photon and QCD background after each cut.

Cut pp2006 Prompt Photon QCD Background
Trigger condition 2136249 172386 717671
Best vertex 1878846 148862 678104
z vertex cut (-100cm<z<100cm) 1507423 144069 657602
Events having one photon and two jets 369853 44141 229332
Photon matched to any jet (R=0.7) 278396 23509 148817
Events after finding the away side jet 228435 17384 125319
Away side jet detector eta cut (-0.8<eta jet<0.8) 175554 11799 93093
Photon pT > 7GeV 76096 5122 29786
Away side jet pT > 5GeV 62106 3924 24625
Photon eta cut (1.08<eta<2) 61599 3800 24255
SMD hits > 3 61274 3766 24185
Track isolation cut 44734 3389 17247
Away side jet neutral fraction <0.9 43915 3309 17016
No barrel towers associated with the photon candidate 38267 3129 15646
EMC isolation cut (0.9) 15948 2952 7458

For MC samples these numbers have been summed over all partonic pT bins. Please note that these numbers have not been scaled to 3.146 pb-1. So, if I scale these numbers to our data luminosity then we are left with 782 signal events and 26899 background events. We still have huge background even after applying all the above mentioned cuts.

I have also run BDT on MC with these cuts. Please see the plots below:

Note: No weight renormalisation has been applied and these results are with actual event weights. Please see the attached file!
