Comparison of Run 9 st_W productions: High pt track bug fix
Comparison of Run 9 st_W productions: High pt track bug fix
Below are figures from three productions of the Run 9 st_W stream data in three different libraries (SL09g, SL10j, and SL11b). The same list of 584 runs was used to analyze each production.
The SL09g production was used for the W AL analysis and does not use the latest TPC SC+GL calibrations done by Joe Seele.
The SL10j production used the latest SC+GL calibration, however the Sti code contained a bug which effectively removed a fraction (~20%) of the high Pt tracks relevant for the W analysis by an incorrect setting for the minimum allowed track curvature.
The most recent production in the SL11b library was just completed, and uses the latest SC+GL calibration and the high Pt track bug was fixed for this library.
Figure 1: Jacobian peak for SL09g library (full W analysis plots attached below)
Figure 2: Jacobian peak for SL10j library (full W analysis plots attached below)
Figure 3: Jacobian peak for SL11b library (full W analysis plots attached below)
In summary the W yield in the recent SL11b production has been restored to a value very close to the SL09g production so it appears that the effects of this high Pt track bug have been fixed in the SL11b production.
