Run 14 15 GeV AuAu EMC timing scans
Attached below are some plots of the EMC timing scan in run #15054045
taken using Tonko's auto_scan feature:
http://www.star.bnl.gov/HyperNews-star/protected/get/emc2/4088/1/1/1/1/1/1/1/2/2/2.html
I used the plotting package "gnuplot" as it was thought this might be something
that could be integrated into DAQ_plot display. We'll see, it would still take some
further integration (run through bash or Perl script?) to incorporate.
There are two sets of plots:
1) the series:

15054045_scan_btow_2.png
15054045_scan_btow_3.png
15054045_scan_btow_4.png
15054045_scan_btow_5.png
displays the scan points connected with "linespoints" grouped in
plots of 6 crates (15054045_EMC_scan.pdf is just a .pdf summary)
2) the series:
etow_multi.png
btow_multi_0x01-f.png
btow_multi_0x01-e.png
shows figure composites of the individual crates, showing
a fitted region and arrow for nominal/current 15 GeV phase setting
as of 2/20/14 (ETOW) and 2/23/14 (BTOW).
These 2 ns scans show a fair amount of correlated "structure" across all
crates (beam/scan stability issues) most readily seen in series 1 plots
In series 2 plots the data is in histogram format and compared to a fit.
In spite of my prejudices, the fit shown is a Gaussian over the range
indicated in the plots ... it does seem that for AuAu and uneven nature
of scan results that this is one way of getting a number. We'll need
to figure out how to adjust/compare with how the timing has been set
in previous years. The EMC is not of central interest in 15 GeV running
and the nominal values set for the phase are likely ok and not worth
changing at this stage of the running period.
