HF PWG Meeting Minutes by Zhenyu - 2015/04/23

1) Ds in Au+Au 200 GeV run 14 - Nasim
Nasim presented a study on Ds reconstruction in the phi(->K+K-)+pi channel with Run14 Au+Au 200 GeV data. A signal peak with five-sigma significance was observed. Simulations are in progress to optimize the selection. It was also suggested to extend the invariant mass range to include D+/D- as well.

2) picoDST QA and Centrality Definition in Au+Au 200 GeV run 14 - Guannan
Guannan presented a study on Run14 datat QA, RefMult and centrality defition for VPDMB-5-p trigger. Two lists of bad runs with and without HFT are made, based on some data QA plots. Lumi- and Vz-dependent corretions are derived based on gRefMult. Finally a reweigting correction at gRefMult<240 as a function of gRefMult was obtained by comparing data and Glauber model calculation. StRefMultCorr will be provided later. It was suggested that the ratio between data and Glauber at larger gRefMult has some structure and should be corrected for as well.

3) KF vertex refitting - Liang
Liang presented a updated study using KFVertex finder to reconstruct primary vertices using track information stored in picoDST. Comparisons were made among original vertex (Minuit Vertex Finder for MuDst production), test vertex (KF Vertex Finder using picoDST), and refitted vertex (KF Vertex finder using picoDST and excluding K/pi daughter particles for possible D0 candidates). With about 300M MB events, it was found that at multiplicity<100,  D0 signal peak significance or width is improved compared to original vertex, and no obvious further improvement with refit vertex. However, from p+p simulations, it was found that the latter does improve the D0 reconstruction. It was agreed to adopt the refit vertex for low multiplicity events, while keep the origignal vertex for high multiplicty events in new D0 tree production, after some final checks.

4) Prospects of B-jet measurements with HFT - Yaping
Yaping presented a study for the prospects of b-tagged jet R_AA measurements with HFT. It was shown that with the Run14-16 data, results with reasonable uncertainties can be obtained for jet 15<pT<45 GeV/c. It was suggested that one should take a look at lower pT.
