Mini EMC workshop: Wednesday August 21 at 9am @ CEEM (and via Seevough)


Agenda:

Runtime Operations: (Justin)

  1) List of runtime tasks (timing scans, FEE/LUT/L2 pedestal calcuation etc.)
  2) Discussion of "how-to" run the software needed for run time tasks including directory locations of the codes and where it needs to be run.
  3) Documentation - how and where are FEE/trigger parameters documented during the run? How are they propagated to DB during/after run?
  4) Discussion of future directions
     -  Tonko's runtime ped/timing scan proposal
     -  Maintenance of special (Oleksandr) BEMC code
     -  Revamp of Pplots and L2 monitoring codes


Data Production Tasks: (Alice)

 1) Pre-production tasks - what needs to happen and when before production of a dataset can occur (status tables, database needs)
 2) Post-production tasks - BSMD status, additional tower/PS status tables?
 3) What needs to be improved for the future?
 4) Update for Run 13 from Danny


Simulation and/or Analysis: (Renee)

  1) Preparing EMC for specific simulation geometry (gains, status)
  2) Trigger Emulation software
  3) Maintenance of Pibero's online trigger code
  4) What needs to be improved for the future?

Calibration: (Will)

  1) Review of previous BEMC and EEMC calibration work
  2) Discussion of ongoing calibration work
  3) Future needs and priorities


Manpower and Logistics: (Scott)

  1) Summarize and prioritize EMC operation/analysis needs through next shutdown (2017) as discussed in previous sessions
  2) Brainstorming session about manpower sources from STAR
