Abstract | : | A recent study of tracking p+p collisions in the STAR TPC at the RHIC design luminosity demonstrated that individual interaction vertices could be determined in this high multiplicity environment. However, in order to meet the physics goals of the RHIC Spin Collaboration a higher luminosity is now under consideration. This note is concerned with the identification of tracks originating from the triggered event at this higher luminosity. Timing information from the trigger barrel scintillator has been used to tag in-time tracks from the background of minimum-bias events that occur up to 50 microsec. before and after the triggered event.
