| Abstract | : | This note describes a number of calculations relating to the design of the barrel Electromagnetic Calorimeter (EMC). Several concepts for the barrel EMC module construction were considered and finite element calculations of stresses performed. Calculations for a rail system to slide the modules into place, and a conceptual design for the module installation fixture are presented. Cost estimates and a description of a full-size engineering model are also included. |
