Abstract | : | Tests have been made to evaluate the performance of Russian manufactured close proximity mesh dynode photomultiplier tubes. These tubes have been compared with a similar Hamamatsu R5505 tube for possible use in the Time of Flight (TOF) subsystem of the Solenoidal Tracking at RHIC (STAR) project. Gain and timing characteristics of these tubes have been tested inside and outside a magnetic field using a N2 ultraviolet laser. |
