| Abstract | : | We report first results on transverse polarization of Lambda hyperons at mid-rapidity in Au+Au collisions at root-s=130 GeV using the STAR TPC at RHIC. Our measurements of the Lambda polarization, P, measured over the full kinematic range of |x_f| < 0.03 and p_t < 5 GeV/c is consistent with zero within 2 sigma. The Lambda sample has also been binned in p_t. Again, the polarization measurement in each bin shows no significant deviation from zero. |
