Spokesperson's welcome

Welcome to the new STAR website. From here, you can browse new STAR scientific results, meet STAR collaborators, and find out more information about the science we study.

This is a particularly exciting time for STAR and for RHIC. In the past year, new physics results have been obtained showing the matter produced in head-on collisions of gold ions at RHIC has features qualitatively different from what has been observed before. First results from the STAR spin physics program already promises the ability to understand in detail how the proton gets its spin. These and other results are the first steps in an exciting journey of discovery concerning the fundamental properties of the matter that makes up the world we live in.

If you have any questions about our experiment, whether general or specialized, feel free to contact me. We'll make sure that someone from STAR gets in touch and answers your question.
