Update 02.17.2018 -- Run 9 pp Efficiency: Embedding

To continue the study of the tracking efficiency in run 9 pp, I calculated the track efficiency as a function of phi, eta, and pT from the run 9 dijet embedding.  The particle level tracks were required to satisfy the following:

  • |eta| < 1
  • pTtrk > 0.2 GeV/c

And the detector level tracks were required to satisfy:

  • Nfit > 15
  • Nfit/Nposs > 0.52
  • dca (global) < 1 cm
  • |eta| < 1
  • pTtrk > 0.2 GeV/c

No trigger was required, but the only events considered were required to have a primary vertex satisfying |Vz| < 55 cm and Vr < 2 cm at the detector level.  Only bins with pTparton >= 5 were considered. The various efficiencies were fit in the same manner as in the post below.  I wasn't anticipating the shape of the track pT efficiency, hence why I fit it with e(pTtrk) = e0 * (1 - exp(-sig * pTtrk)).

The "cut response" as a function of phi, eta, and pT are presented below.  These are the ratio of (detector level) tracks after QA cuts to those before QA cuts.
