implementing my wish list for drupal-blogs is on hold as computing folks haven't responded. I suspect they are quite busy with the run and collab meeting. Anyway, in case I forget:

• open (unmoderated) comments should be enabled
• updates should automatically insert an update field (+timestamp) and maybe modify title
• provide (user-defined) tags for grouping blog entries
• layout (from theme) should be more content friendly - less real estate for stuff always present
• sub-group diary section (e.g. event structure ) should be available as a side menu

I suspect all of this is available within Drupal and in some cases likely doable from the web-interface directly
