Notes on EPD for run 20

The instructions that we used to get the EPD up and running from the previous year can be found at:

drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/subsys/epd/operations-2018/pre-and-post-beam-commissioning

Since things are coming very fast (collisions tomorrow night?) we need to confirm that we are ready.

Installation
The EPD was first installed Saturday November 23rd, 2019.  During that time we broke 2 of the "Y" pieces on the optical fiber bundles, they seem to have gotten brittle with radiation.  This shows up as very high dark current on half of a supersector.  We "fixed" these with electrical tape, and it seemed to be fine.  Due to a broken "Y", we replaced the SiPM board on even side of PP11 on the West side, though the SiPM board was most likely ok.  The bias voltages for this will not be correct. Due to an issue with the TPC, the west side was removed and reinstalled on Wednesday December 4th.  At this moment, it seems to be light-tight as none of the channels are showing particularly high dark current.

Dark Current
Saving a snapshot now by going to the GUI (dashboard1.star.bnl.gov/daq/EPD_UI/) and clicking on the save as button.  This can be found at: drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/system/files/EPD2019_11_7_14_18.txt

Plotting these values with excel, we see: drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/system/files/EPD2019_11_7_14_18_DC.png (spreadsheet is attached to the bottom).  A snapshot of the GUI is: drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/system/files/EPD2019_12_07_DCGUI.png

Seven Pattern Test
Joey performed the 7 patterns test 12/7/2019 and document the results at: drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/blog/adams92/mapping-test-december-6-2019

He saw that West PP3 TT24 is always blue.  A check with a scope indicates that the channel is live, but we were unable to confirm that changing the vped setting changed the level of the scope.

In the mapping files, WPP3TT24 corresponds to TUFF, TUFF Branch, TUFF Channel, FEE Channel of (1,0, 5, 12) and corresponds to EQ1 board 0 channel 16.  The nice EPD mapping excel (which is of course taken care of by the db but sometimes it is good to look things up) is also attached.

Cosmic run 20339017 (https://online.star.bnl.gov/RunLog/index.php?r=20339017) - the link thing doesn't like the query, whatever.
