In the context of the Sector 5 anomaly, here are the gains for Sector 5 plotted by padrow vs. pad, and mean values per padrow (using only those pads with gains within +/-0.8 of 1.0).
A centroid method for ZDC SMD hits
Introduction
Phenix uses a "centroid method" for counting hits in the A_N azimuthal distribution. Their acceptance is shown in the figure below:
