Abstract | : | The effect of event azimuthal asymmetry in event mixing invariant mass distributions is investigated for proton-proton and gold-gold collisions reconstructed by the Time Projecting Chamber of the STAR experiment. Two-particle invariant mass distributions obtained by the classical event mixing method are disturbed by the asymmetry of reconstructed events. The formalism of Fourier expansion of azimuthal particle distributions is proposed in order to describe the effect and to calculate the correction. The result of the correction applied to experimental data is finally given. |
