EPD calibration for pp 500 GeV in Run22 (2021-2022)

Overview

The Calibration for EPD in Run22 pp 500 GeV collisions is planned to be done in a "live" calibration manner, which means that most calibration has been done by the calibration team when the STAR was still taking data. This would save a lot of effort to regenerate the fast offline data for the purpose of calibration.

Under high collision energy at 500 GeV, a small bunch of tiles consumes most of the time for multi-Landau fitting to get a good 1-MIP value or to just decide as “bad” tiles, but overall EPD behaves well and calibration is smooth for most tiles, which are consistent through each calibration window.

Summary
The calibration is mostly done, which should be good for trigger and physics analysis. thanks to all the contributions from the calibration team. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or comments.
