Run 15 LED Signal Resolutions -- PART 2

Note: this is an update of https://drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/blog/dilks/run-15-led-signal-resolutions

In this blog post, resolution is defined as (distribution RMS) / (distribution MEAN)

Day 37, Run 091

HV setpoints: L:1300 S:0xA0
STAR magnet: off
DX magnet: off ??

Resolution Averages:

  • All large cells: 2.533%
  • Large cells w/o edges: 2.328%
  • Russian cells: 3.237%
  • Yale cells: 3.701%

Resolutions for all FMS channels:

Cells with anomalously high resolutions:
these are screenshots; left pannel shows ADC vs. event number and right panel shows ADC distribution
the bottom right corner of each screenshot tells what type of channel it is; small cell anamolies are yales; most large cell anomalies are edge cells

Day 38, Run 072

HV setpoints: L: qt1 @ 1350, qt2 @ 1300, qt3 @ 1400, qt4 @ 1300;   S:OFF
STAR magnet: on
DX magnet: off ??

Resolution Averages:

  • All large cells: 4.638%
  • Large cells w/o edges: 4.249%

Resolutions for all FMS channels (HV setpoints in histogram title are incorrect; true setpoints are stated above)

Day 41, Runs 163-178

HV setpoints: L:1000-1750,  S:0x90-0xFF
STAR magnet: on
DX magnet: on during pp run, may have gone off after beam loss mid run

.
Below I compare day 20 resolution vs. HV setpoint data for when the STAR magnet was off to these day 41 data.
Day21 data can be found in "part1" of this blog post, linked at the top of the page.
