geometry used in Simulation (plain) vs. Embedding

Geometry used in simulation/embedding for hits projection

For embedding with SSD, we project GEANT hits on real geometry.

Final Data Plots

The following plots are for data.

Mid-rapidity Collins Asymmetry Calculation

In order to estimate the order magnitude of the single spin Collins asymmetry at midrapidity I calcuated the following partonic components from jet reconstruction using the STAR PYTHIA + GEANT simu

Vertex splitting QA in the new Year 7 Au+Au production(P08ic w/Minuit3)

I have looked at the new P08ic AuAu production that was done with Minuit3 VF to test Anthony's modified VF.

Data/MC comparison for 2006 Dijet Cross-section

I started with the 2006 Simulation Jet Trees. Using the ConeJets12 and PythiaJet branches, I associated the detector jets to the nearest pythia jet by distance in eta-phi space.

Spin asymmetry statistical errors

This study on statistical errors was prompted by the horrible linear fit to the fill-by-fill inclusive electron asymmetry, as shown at the June 2008 Collaboration Meeting at UC Davis.

Cuts: Primary Vertex Z, Track Eta

Two of the cuts that significantly reduced the number of electrons available for this analysis is the event primary vertex-z and track-η cuts.

ssd geometry tables : change

In continuation of bug #1255 (see previous blog entry) for ssd geometry tables used in simulation/real data, it has been decided to not use the
