 1) I know that Mustafa has worked on the PxlFast simu with the new
structures and that Amilkar is doing some tests.
2) We moved the alignment codes to CVS (cvs co offline/users/hft/calibrations/alignment)
    and added some basic info/documentation.
     - Long Ma a new student from China, now at LBL, will spend some time on this effort
    -  Michael Lominitz, a new student of mine, started working on corrections feedback to Db
    - Jonathan et al modify the code to work with the new Hit structure (+Mustafa's new pxlfast)
    - we plan to resume simulation tests and finalize/put structures in Db
    - we need still to work on VMC paradigm from Yuri and adopt it for HFT
3) A major release of dev13 geometry was fixed for several issues
4) I am sure there is IST activity
5) I am sure there is PXL survey data manipulation activity
6) AOB

p.s. Jonathan has a 20+10 minutes talk on software, plenary in S&C Monday meeting in 10 days
Also Zhenyu has an HFT status talk on Upgrades Friday (?). He will need a couple of nice
       slides on software too

We will have our meeting today. Using as a roadmap Xin's timeline slide:

http://drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/system/files/Software_nearterm.pdf

we can get progress updates on the two main fronts:

1) DAQ-Cluster-Hit Makers. I got a private update from Hao on this one but a verbal update for everyone is needed

2) Geometry (Ideal/Survey) info in Db…Calibration chain with new structures…Immediate testing needs…other issues

We will prepare a couple of slides on some of these sub-topics

AGENDA

1) Geometry refinements for run-13

2) Hao/Jon et al came up with an initial version of two structures for StEvent inclusion Pxl-raw-hit and Pxl-hit. The simulation chain with Mustafa's cleaned up fast sim appears to work fine (we will hear more at the meeting). We will do the same for IST.

3) The first sector for the engineering run is done and under Hao's survey!

We need to move on 3 things and get an update on some others:

1) Geometry: It has been an intense week but F/J/A have something that even visually shows the work put into it. Need to update DEV13 asap

(S&C god will freeze geometry and create timestamp). There is still the open question of how many sectors are going to be there and where

are they going to be (Flemming with his cosmic argument re-opened an otherwise done deal, ie Xin's 12' o'clock cluster).

 2) PXL Rawhit and Hit structures in StEvent.

3) PXL-fastsim in CVS and send for review. Mustafa is active here.

Ongoing business updates (verbal update ok):

4) Survey of finished sector

5) IST structures and FastSim

6) Alignment codes

1) HFT Hit structures. Document to present to Thomas Ullrich and Jerome.
     This also leads to:

2) Feedback to IST Hit/RawHit proposal

3) Geometry troubles/solutions

4) PxlFastSim: status after code pre-review interactions with S&C

Since we cannot have an open discussion about every little detail the agenda items will be more general, detailed discussions need to happen in smaller groups. Also I willput first things with higher priority, as I see it or as it is communicated to me from above!

1) We need to focus and finish the Run-13 geometry. We will need to agree on who and when will deliver what. The 'what' parts I am aware of are:

a) pxl sensors on ladders

b) ladder placement on sectors

c) sector dove tail and holder modeling

d) IDS update: shapes and material

e) beam pipe connections

f) recheck materials with as-built hardware, include other massive shapes etc

2) We need to finalize the PXL and IST cluster and hit structures. There are discussion on both going on in the background but we need to check in CVS something soon and update later. This is holding the fast/slow simulator work and chain back.

3) We need to determine who is going to work on a cluster, hit finder for each detector. We need to be specific and realistic here, especially for PXLs.

4) I started working on updating the Web/Doc pages. I need feedback on what is missing on the general structure, now that I am building it. Go here first:

http://drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/subsys/hft

The click on SOFTWARE and go here:

http://drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/subsys/hft/software

and then click on OFFLINE and also on CURRENT ACTIVITIES/TASKS to go here:

http://drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/subsys/hft/software/offline

http://drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/subsys/hft/software/current-activitytask-list

As I said, at this point I need comments on overall structures and missing bullets. Many links are just directory dumps (better than nothing) and I started moving old things to 'old docs'.

Run-12 Transverse Jets: First Look (16 Runs)

Kevin has produced trees for sixteen runs from Run-12. Here, I post brief results for single-spin asymmetries from these trees. The asymmetries are not corrected for polarization.

Run-12 Transverse Jets: Trigger QA (extended run list)

In previous blogs I posted QA plots for a portion of the Run-12 data. Renee asked me to add plots of the number of tracks with pT > 200 MeV/c.
