NOTES

2) Analysis meeting June 22-24 (AGENDA)

Conclusions: the analysis meeting agenda is basically settled.

3) Questions from trigger group
  • Do we need more mid-rapidity triggers for Run-23 than those used for Run 14 and 16?
  • Do we need more DSM2 for TOF<->BEMC communications? There were some interests in the UPC J/psi trigger. What is the status?
Conclusions: conveners will bring this to PWGs for discussion in the next weeks. Need to provide answers to the trigger group by Aug. 1st.

4) Conference talks with new preliminary results
  • PAs should present the status of the analysis before proposing an abstract for a conference aiming for new preliminary results
  • After abstract submission/acceptance, PAs should present analysis updates regularly (at least 1-2 times a month) at PWG meetings
Conclusions: conveners will keep this in mind, and we need all the analyzers to give regular updates in the PWG.

5) Collect new preliminary results from SQM

Conclusions: for new preliminary results, PAs should create a Drupal blog to host all the new preliminary figures of high resolution, as well as the preliminary request presentation.

6) Upcoming conferences
  • DNP, Oct. 27-30, hybrid: abstract due July 1st
  • CIPANP, Aug. 29 - Sep. 4, in person only (Florida): abstract due Aug. 1st

NOTES

2) Analysis meeting agenda: draft

Conclusions: the agenda is more or less fianlized. Will start to contact speakers.

3) SQM
- Plenary talk rehearsal: June 7th 9:30 - 10:30 am BNL time
- Parallel talks and posters: submitted to Drupal by May 30th
- Analysis status
  • Strangeness production in Run16 d+Au (embedding won't be ready)
  • pi/k/p in 54.4 GeV
Conclusions: PWGs will go through all the talks/posters next week.

4) Production news
  • Run17 MuDst -> PicoDst st_physics: issues found with BTof calibration. Production stopped, and will resume after fix
  • Run21 7.7 GeV COL: new correction scheme developed for TPC cluster ADC nonlinearity; recalibration needed for all produced BES-II data if want to apply (SLIDES)
  • Run19/20 FXT data: need to be reprocessed after ETOF calibration/alignment is fixed

5) Guidance on using italic vs. roman fonts for symbols: Guidances
  • Note: it should be written as $p$+$p$ and $p$+Au, etc, which is different from the guidance
6) Need a maintainer for StEmcADCtoEMaker

1) Paper preview: Collision energy dependence of deuteron cumulants and proton-deuteron correlations in Au+Au collisions at RHIC
- Brief introduction from the PWG conveners (5’) [Xiaofeng Luo]
- Paper proposal (15')  [Presentation by Debasish Mallick]
- Open discussions (35')
- Summary from the conveners' panel (5’)

Proposal page: https://www.star.bnl.gov/protected/bulkcorr/dmallick/WebPage_Deuteron/index.html
PA: Debasish Mallick, Nu Xu, Bedangadas Mohanty
Target journal: PLB

NOTES

2) Organizational news
  • New "JetCorr" convener: Nihar Sahoo
  • Will merge JetCorr and HF very soon. How about calling it HardProbes (HP)?
  • Raghav and Hanseul will step down when the merging takes effect.

3) Production & Calibration (DETAILS)
  • Run21 7.7 GeV COL calibration (need a few more weeks)
    • Done: BTof
    • In progress: ETof, TPC dE/dx, EMC
  • Run17 510 GeV st_physics MuDst->PicoDst (~23% done, need a few more months)
    • More central disk space removing the need to do it in batches. Already communicated with T. Lin.
  • Run19 & 20: st_zerobias data stream needs to be produced
    • Does this need to be in the same library as st_physics productions? (thinking of PicoDst issues)
Conclusions: will not produce st_zerobias data stream unless a request is received. Then we can discuss which library to use based on the needs.

4) GPC #87 erratum: draft (Many thanks to Takahito and Takafumi)

Conclusions: LFSUPC PWG will review the erratum soon.

5) Analysis meeting agenda: draft

Conclusions: will continue revising the agenda as more suggestions/comments come in.

6) Forward triggering for 2023: need a concrete plan by September
- UPC J/psi (LFSUPC)
- Search for He4D (HF)

Conclusions: simulation codes with final-design tracking and calorimetry are now ready. It is necessary for any proposed triggers to carry out feasibility study on thresholds, rates, etc. It is also important to re-evaluate tracking capability in central heavy-ion events.

7) Preliminary results
- No second version
- If mistakes are found, we should stop showing the preliminary results and correct them through publication
