Tracking Efficiency Uncertainty
17.11.2020, The charges to the task force
- Conduct systematic studies on the TPC single track efficiency uncertainty on a few standard datasets, e.g. AuAu200, BES, pp200 or 500 GeV etc. It will be preferred that the uncertainty can be evaluated more differentially in pT, eta/y, luminosity etc when statistics allows.
- Investigate on any possible improvement in the TPC simulator to improve the efficiency uncertainty, especially for the BES-II datasets.
- Expect a report from the task force (to be released as a STAR note) The report should include the above studies, as well as a description on standard procedures to evaluate the tracking efficiency uncertainty for other datasets.
- Timeline: about 6 months - 1 year. If the full efforts are expected to take longer than this, we expect a preliminary report focusing on the findings from 1) to be released in about 6 months.

GMT status was discussed. Grigory - software should be ready with very soon. It is planned to revisit the 2014 data since there are perios with difeerent luminosities. Necessity of the simulator was discussed as well.
MuMc - Yuri has provided data with fixed target simulation, plus we will test on nightly production data.
KFP - by the next week Pavol should transfer codes to Diptanil to run the D meson test.

Discussion about using StMuMcAnalysisMaker to study track quality and efficiencies. Most importantly while the code itself has to be run under TFG release it is only because if the added code functionalities. The code can be run on standard data productions and simulations. There are some functions that need to be added such as PID checks and V0 efficiencies. The code also has interface to results from KFParticle Finder, but thsi needs further work. David has agreed to have a look at the code.
GMT - According to Grigory's email it should not take long before we have the code in dev and can start testing latest data.
Robert Licenik has agreed to rerun the analysis of the MC efficiencies as it was done by Dmitry Kalinkin, but this time on run14 AuAu data which where produced without the HFT in tracking. There is smaller minbias sample and HT triggered one. Would be good to have a look at both.
TOF - wanted to understand better the current status of the TOF simulator. Seems the last person working on it was Daniel Brandenburg. Need to find out more

Discussion about status of the GMT. The is not simulator so far for the GMT. It seems that fastsim based on hit position smearing should be sufficient.
There was a discussion if we could use K->3pi decay within TPC. KFParticle Finder woudl be useful for that, but it needs information about cov. matrix at the last point which is not currently saved in the data.
Such possibility exists in the TFG release. This would mean to reproduce small data sample under TFG.
