Trigger Simu Test

I am trying to figure out why the trigger simulator only returns as 'good' a fraction of the events returned as 'good' by the online L2-gamma trigger.  Let me state that a different way...

Trigger Emulator Test

In StTriggerSimuMaker, I get the "nominal" trigger from the MuDst, then execute the following
code --

Trigger Emulator Test run 7098001

Test trigger emulation on run 7098001

  • cvs co StRoot/StTriggerUtilities
  • Process run 7098001

Looking at the Gaussian Widths:

We now have the fitting algorithms working for both the LDA and the 2-D approach.  The results are plotted below, marking actual values in black, the 2D values in red, and the LDA values in blue.

Just realized that STAR provides timestamps using GMT, not EDT... so....

Spill-over Events

It doesn't look like I can remove the spillover events from the training samples without drastically changing their content.  Now I just have to figure out what to do with them to keep the distribution sensible.

BSMD ADC distributions from data

These plots were made from data taken from the  following runs:

 8336019
 8336028
 8336044
 8336052

Dijet x1, x2 distributions in eta bins

Below are x1 and x2 distributions for different eta bins. eta3 is always the larger of the two jet etas.

More on Raw BSMD ADC Distributions

As Will pointed out, you can't always say with 100% certainty whether a given module is showing banding structure just by looking at the raw ADC vs.
