Slides from Gavin - STAR/system/files/userfiles/6551/20220901.pdf

  • Slides 3 & 4 - Acceptance parameter (F) for φ meson.
    • Gavin will try using F+δF in fits for ρ00 extraction rather than F to see the impact this uncertainty has on the final pT integrated value.
      • If there is a significant difference in ρ00, we will increase the statistics for the acceptance parameter simulation.
  • Slide 5 - φ BESI vs BESII ρ00(pT) results (|η| < 1.0)
    • Efficiency simulation does not use v2 or spectra, which should be added.
  • Slide 6 - φ Raw BESII ρ00(pT) with (|η| < 1.5)
    • TOF cutoff is at |η| < 0.9 and therefore the results should be nearly identical to the previous results with |η| < 1.0. This can be fixed by requiring only TPC for kaons with 1.0 < |η| < 1.5.
  • Slide 7 - φ ρ00(pT) using first order event plane ~1/10 of picoDst files
    • Gavin will produce the full TTrees for this measurement.
    • Result looks to be in good agreement with BESI and BESII(Ψ2) result, but with large uncertainty.
  • Slide 8 - φ Rapidity dependent ρ00
    • Same TPC requirement needs to be implemented as in Slide 6.
    • Gavin will break up pT and centrality bins for measuring ρ00 and then integrate over these quantities for the final ρ00 in each rapidity bin.
      • This also needs to be done for the centrality dependence study, but only bin in pT.
  • Slides 9 & 10 - K*0 ρ00(pT)
    • Acceptance + Resolution correction has large effect due to the large F values. Simulation for acceptance correction uses the preliminary 200GeV v2 for K*0 with Subhash's fit to this distribution. pT spectra for 19.6 GeV from Subhash is also used.
    • Gavin will run a cross check that the acceptance parameter code properly shifts an artificial ρ00 value back to its input value.
    • Efficiency simulation should also use the v2 and pT spectra for K*0.
  • Slides 11-17 - K*0 v2(pT)
    • A lot of issues with this specific analysis. Present at STAR collaboration meeting for insight from community?

Slides from Gavin - STAR/system/files/userfiles/6551/20220811.pdf

Summary:

  • Gavin showed first results for φ meson ρ00 centrality dependence study.
    • 2nd order polynomial appears to fit the residual background better, given that the systematic errors are reduced in comparison to the 1st order polynomial background.
    • 2nd order will be default and 1st order will be a source of systematic error.
  • Xu Sun informed us that in the case of the BESI centrality dependence studies, the ToF matching efficiency from the centrality range 20-60% was used for all centralities.
    • BESI only had centrality dependence for Au+Au sqrt{s_NN} >= 27GeV.
    • We should calculate the ToF matching efficiency for each centrality bin.
  • Gavin is working on the pT dependent ρ00 calculation with respect to the 1st order event plane.
    • |η| < 1.0 to compare with BESI.
