First Physics Cuts
Updated on Thu, 2008-03-06 13:55. Originally created by wleight on 2008-03-06 13:55.These plots were made from 5000 each of mu, pi-, and gamma single-particle events with eta distribution from -.2 to 1.2 and pt distribution from 5 to 40 GeV. Tower clustering was done using a
SSA by Fill
Updated on Tue, 2008-03-11 11:16. Originally created by kocolosk on 2008-03-05 17:32.Here’s a summary of results for null-test calculations of single-spin asymmetries for the Run 5 charged pion A_{LL} analysis. Asymmetries are defined as (Y,B):
Yellow Beam: -1 x { (++ + +-) - (-+ + —) }
Blue Beam: -1 x { (++ + -+) - (+- + —) }
Like-Sign: (++) - (—)
Unlike-Sign: (+-) - (-+)
All the asymmetries incorporate final beam polarizations.
First Attempt At Cuts
Updated on Thu, 2008-03-06 15:29. Originally created by rcorliss on 2008-03-05 10:33.I broke down and made an ntuple yesterday, which vastly speeds up the cut-testing process. The following sequence of five histograms shows the tower energy spectrum (summed over the cluster)
Muon, Photon, and Pi- Preshower Plots
Updated on Tue, 2008-03-04 14:49. Originally created by wleight on 2008-03-04 11:53.These plots were made from 5000 events of each particle type. For muons, tower clustering was done by setting a seed tower threshold of .25 GeV and a cluster threshold of .33 GeV: for gamma a

Updated on Tue, 2008-03-04 14:26. Originally created by mattheww on 2008-03-03 13:54.Here some plots of slopes for 2008 using runs 9061080, 9062099, 9063032, 9063117, and 9064017, which are all EmcCheck runs. The slopes are attached in a text file.

Further Preshower Plots
Updated on Fri, 2008-02-29 13:00. Originally created by wleight on 2008-02-28 13:28.Figures 1, 3, and 5 show plots involving geant preshower energy deposition (i.e., with no calorimeter simulation applied): for each tower-only cluster the preshowers in front of it are identified a
Jet Energy Study
Updated on Thu, 2008-02-28 10:12. Originally created by mattheww on 2008-02-28 09:57.Using a series of response functions generated from single particle geant simulations and integrating the jet finder algorithm, I took each pythia jet and found it's detector energy.
