TOF HV standby currents

Hi All,

Geary asked me to take a look at the HV currents when TOF is in standby mode (i.e. HV = 5000 instead of 7000V).

   Time:  11 AM - 12 PM EDT

 *--===================================================================--*

I. Agenda:

1) Run10 status: Bill

2) Management issues: Nu

3) Scientific committee for the next Coll. Mtg: Nu

4) TBD

*--===================================================================--*

II. Brief Summary and/or Action Items:

0) Attendency: Flemming, Bedanga, Jamie, Bill, Olga, Bernd, Nu

1) Bill will update the collabration with run10 status every other week // Working with Jerome, Olga will start the preparation for next shift sign up.

Plan with 27 week run, start on Dec. 1. Sign up starts mid- or late Feb. in order to allow people preparing travel.  // Bill (operation) will prepare the

TPC sector insertion tooling, Flemming will preppare the follow up items at the last TPC view.

2) Simulations for upgrade projects should be enhanced. Nu will talk to related people.

3) Coll. Mtg. Scientific program committee chair: Bedanga. // Theme: dAu cold nuclear matter effect and RHIC BES

4) Will discuss more on the embedding issues when relevant people are back

n) Brief aummary of the Convener Lunch Meeting at the Austin Analysis Meeting:

(I) Concerns/issues from conveners:

1)    Gang: (a) publication standard, Upsilon signal, 3sigma is enough? Be careful on the description.Bernd will take a look at the manuscript and let us know of his view;  (b) HF stuck in embedding, 1st priority item, does not work. Can we use computing resources from outside STAR? The answer is always YES, provided careful QA implemented and no extra burdun on existing teams.

2)    Lijuan: status about embeeding helpers? Will be followed up at the PWGc

3)    Wlodek: LVP news release

(II) Data analysis status

       1) Data status: Run9: pp 200GeV, pp 500GeV

           Spin PWG: 500 production done, 200 GeV still working on TPC calibration, close to the production;

           HF PWG: working on the 500 GeV pp NPE ;

           JetCorr PWG: will analyze data from jetpatch triggered result;

           LFSpectra PWG: needs 500GeV MB, preliminary results analyzed by a ustc student. Suggestion: document the MB files;

          Pp2pp:   in few weeks will have microDST.

      2) Data status: Run8: transverse pp200 GeV, dAu

          Spin PWG: FMS separate production, di-jet kt, may need TPC recalibration. Only HI reference pp data.

          LFSpectra PWG: strange hadron analysis, pi/K/p low, to high pt.  Software group has not solved the h+/h- ratios vs. pt and rapidity problem. The

               problem is not seen in Run9. Low pt K0, Lambda, phi yields higher than Run3 results. Seems problem in efficiency.

          HF PWG: no D0/charged Ds, reconstructed, inconsistent with Run3.

      3) Data status: Run7: Au+Au at 200 GeV

          LFSpectra PWG: no efficiencies; should make the embedding request. Strong D+ signal, no D-

          BulkCorr PWG: v2 analysis. Ka/pion, dEdx problem. Low q_inv seen an unusual peak in balance function analysis. In sigma_dy different from

                  earlier Runs.

          JetCorr PWG: jet analysis, di-hadron. Unsusal struction in 2-D eta correlation function. Charge dependence.

(III) Run10 QA: All PWGs is encouraged to participate in the QA in run10. PWGC meeting will discuss the results.

Combining triggers in Run 10 and later with the new TCU

For Run 10, there is a new Trigger Control Unit, which deals with prescales independently, rather than the past methods which introduced correlations.  This changes the way that triggers need

Pile-up in z-dependent TPC distortions

THE PROBLEM

Some TPC distortions exhibit an approximately linear z dependence in a particular observable. Two notable examples of this are:
