1) This year's geometry additional work, touchups.  See Flemming's email at the bottom.

2) Brief reports only, detailed discussion in Monday's meeting:

a) PXL Survey/Geometry tables in Db.

b) PxlDbMaker review: readiness

c) TESTING: Simple alignment tests have been handed out to several people to calibrate.  Modification are needed to HFTDraw.C to handle this year's absence of IST, SSD and most   Pxl sectors. More sophisticated tests on the way (with simultaneous testing of the reco/calib chain).

3) It would be nice if Mustafa can modify PxlFast to write out PxlRawHit (for testing cluster/hit finders etc)

4) This run's "fastoffline" QA or what we would like to check/monitor in the reco chain. What and who will do it. I will put together a couple of slides on this but Hao/Xin you might want to resurrect and work on some older proposals of yours. I put the Online document (example) in today's meeting pge on Drupal

1) Jonathan tried to check the new-est geometry and also rerun some alignment files w/out the PXL hits on the track-fit. A DEV tracker-code commit halted progress for a couple of days. It seems to be fixed now. Tests re-assumed.

2) Jon/Flemming check the Rad-lengths of new-est geometry. In progress

3) Hao found a discrepancy in coord. syst. definition while filling the Db survey tables. We have an understanding now. He also modified the sensor ID definitions in tables to :

 ID = (sector-1)*40 + (ladder-1)*10 + sensor

1 <= sector <= 10

1 <= ladder <= 4

1 <= sensor <= 10

4) Amilkar is progressing on the cluster-based quick vertex finder for Offline QA

5) A design flaw showed during insertion tests where the inner ladders of adjacent sectors hit each-other due to a raised component in the readout. Consequences for us:

a) In this year's run we won't have two sectors adjecent -> need to modify geant model

b) The design needs to be modified -> more changes in geant later

6) Jonathan sent around his study of tracking efficiency with >2 pxl hits. Looks normal.

7) I am not sure where Mustafa stands with the (pseudo ?) slow simulator for cluster/hit finder tests. I know that he is talking to Hao.

8) Yaping has a couple of slides on IST offline status.

Agenda:

1) p-p production for BUR estimates. This is a side-activity so it needs to be setup quickly in a familiar environment. UPGR15 is the prime candidate. It has less issues (hopefully) than anything more fancy and IT IS the CDR environment (apples to apples). Jonathan is investigating (now that he is done with his nice Colloquium talk here)

2) Run13 Offline-staffing/analysis. May 8th the PXL prototype goes in STAR.  Assuminga few days to get online/DAQ in shape it looks like starting around May 12 we should be able to start doing Offline QA, chain testing, bug fixing etc etc. Hao and Long are at BNL.  Jonathan plans to go there the 12 for about 10 days. Other people available for this?

3) The hardware guys decided on a 2-7-9 sector configurations (avoid edges etc). The 1-5-10 proposal is dead. Geometry in geant needs to reflect that. Flemming has made this change but others too and he is ready to hand them to Jason. Those include the active area narrowing which, from discussing with him, starts now 5um below the top surface and it is 16um thick. So the hits are 11um below the top surface instead of 25um. 14um for this device will go a long way.

4) Michael Lomnitz completed some tests of alignment w/out the pxl hits on track fitting. He will post a couple of slides on this…rotation testing is in the making (we need to make sure things work before hand them out for blind tests).

5) Amilkar is progressing on a cluster-based vertex estimation (an extra/supplementary tool for assessment). He will post a couple of slides on this FYI. This item brought up the issue of realistic pileup where we mix minbias events AND UPC-e consistently. Yuri provided info on the mechanism used in TPC and we will expand it to include Starlight upc-e.

 AGENDA

1) Jonathan diagnosed and Flemming investigated and fixed a geant misbehavior! Flemming will tell us about his fix and Jonathan about his proof of fix and how alignment plots look better now.

2) I have a few slides on StPxlDbMaker. I will summarize a few finding and the immediate road ahead. Monday a few of us will have a dedicated  meeting on Pxl calibrations/alignment stuff. If you think you need to  be there…be there at 4pm EDT same number as above…but…it is going to be very technical.

3) Hao released the first version of PXL cluster/hit finders

4) Yuri will make some comments on secondary vertex fitting (during production) with or w/out kinematical fit, uDST info saved and tests needed to evaluate this global approach (KSU have agreed to help with those but it is an interesting field for everyone thinking about analysis software).
